Iron Mountain Reports Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2016 Results

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), the storage and information management services company, announces fourth quarter and full year 2016 financial and operating results. Financial Performance Highlights

  • Total reported Revenues for the fourth quarter were $934 million, compared with $752 million in 2015. Full year total reported Revenues were $3.51 billion, compared with $3.01 billion in 2015. On a constant dollar (C$) basis, total Revenue growth was 25.7% for the quarter and 19.0% for the full year, primarily driven by the Recall acquisition, which closed on May 2, 2016.
  • Income from Continuing Operations for the fourth quarter was $49.8 million, compared with $5.9 million in 2015. For the full year 2016, Income from Continuing Operations was $103.9 million, compared with $125.2 million in 2015. Income from Continuing Operations included $29 million of Recall Costs in the fourth quarter of 2016 and $132 million in full year 2016, compared with $27 million of Recall Costs in the fourth quarter of 2015 and $47 million in full year 2015.
  • Adjusted EBITDA for the fourth quarter was $297 million, compared with $238 million in 2015. Full year Adjusted EBITDA was $1,087 million, compared with $920 million in 2015. On a C$ basis, Adjusted EBITDA increased by 25.8% for the quarter and 19.7% for the full year.
  • Reported EPS - Fully Diluted from Continuing Operations for the fourth quarter was $0.19 per share compared with $0.03 per share for the fourth quarter of 2015. Reported EPS - Fully Diluted from Continuing Operations for the full year was $0.41 per share compared with $0.59 per share in 2015.
  • Adjusted EPS for the fourth quarter was $0.26 per diluted share, compared with $0.33 per diluted share in 2015. Adjusted EPS for the fourth quarter reflects a structural tax rate of 18.5%, compared with a structural tax rate of 16.8% in 2015. In addition, Adjusted EPS was impacted by increased depreciation and amortization expenses resulting from the Recall acquisition. Full year Adjusted EPS was $1.07 per diluted share, compared with $1.21 per diluted share in 2015.
  • Net Income for the fourth quarter was $50 million compared with $6 million in 2015. For full year 2016, Net Income was $107 million compared with $125 million in full year 2016. Net Income was impacted by the same items included in Income from Continuing Operations.
  • FFO (Normalized) per share was $0.50 for the fourth quarter compared with $0.57 in 2015. On a full year basis, FFO (Normalized) per share was $1.92 compared with $2.10 in 2015.
  • AFFO was $164 million for the fourth quarter compared with $126 million in 2015. AFFO was $648 million compared with $530 million in 2015.

Guidance
The company updated its 2017 guidance to reflect 2017 constant dollar budget rates. The Company expects, on constant dollar basis, Revenue growth of 8% to 10%, Adjusted EBITDA growth of 16% to 19% and AFFO growth of 8% to 15% for full year 2017.
