BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Iron
Mountain® Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), the storage and information
management company, today announced an online community for data center
customers to find and connect with cloud service providers via the Iron
Mountain Data Center Marketplace.
The site gives customers a neutral platform for shopping a range of
cloud service solution options, enabling faster implementation times
without compromising security and compliance requirements. Conversely,
the Marketplace provides a venue for cloud and solution providers
located in Iron Mountain’s data center facilities to promote their
offerings to organizations located within Iron Mountain’s data centers.
“We want to create a convenient platform for Iron Mountain customers to
easily find and quickly implement the cloud solutions they need from the
service providers in our marketplace,” said Mark Kidd, senior vice
president and general manager, data centers, Iron Mountain. “Solution
providers also appreciate having access to Iron Mountain’s longstanding
relationships, which includes more than 95 percent of the Fortune 1000.
The ability to join the Marketplace is a great opportunity for them to
make their services available to a large customer base. It’s a win-win
for both our providers and customers.”
“Iron Mountain’s Data Center Marketplace is already working for us. We
received an organization’s service request even before we had completed
our installation in Iron Mountain’s Data Center,” said AJ Ketner,
division manager for Computer Aid. “Computer Aid provides application
support, development and knowledge capture services to Fortune 1000 and
government organizations. Iron Mountain’s Data Center Marketplace gives
us the opportunity to efficiently expand our reach to a much wider
audience.”
Mike Mitsch, vice president of NEC Corporation of America, said: “With
the introduction of the Marketplace, Iron Mountain has established a new
level of solution delivery options for data center clients that are
seeking secure, off-premise computing. The ability to deploy an
optimized infrastructure comprising storage, servers, and advanced
networking from a supplier that has been vetted by Iron Mountain
accelerates the adoption of off-premise computing.”
Another solution provider, Black Lotus which provides cloud-based,
carrier-grade distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation services
to more than 650,000 end users globally, commented: “Iron Mountain’s
Data Center Marketplace is an ideal platform for Black Lotus to engage
with organizations that maintain high standards of security and
compliance,” said Xenophon Giannis, senior vice president of sales and
marketing for Black Lotus. “Iron Mountain’s commitment to carrier and
service provider neutrality allows Black Lotus to offer enterprise
companies solutions for protecting their networks and defending against
threats to availability at significantly lower costs than on-premise
solution alternatives.”
