BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 7, 2009-- IDG’s Computerworld has named Bill Brown , chief information officer at information management company Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), a 2010 Premier 100 IT Leaders honoree. The Premier 100 spotlights 100 technology and business executives for their exceptional leadership and innovative use of technology. Brown won recognition for his team’s work in transforming Iron Mountain’s IT function into a business driver and introducing technology to optimize the company’s operations and enable its growth.

“The Premier 100 awards program shines a spotlight on the best of IT leadership and innovation,” said Scot Finnie , editor in chief of Computerworld. “Despite a tough economy, these senior IT leaders are seizing this rare moment to steer measured growth, embark on innovative pilots and build loyalty in their most valued workers. We’re pleased to honor the achievements of these 100 men and women who epitomize calm and steady IT leadership.”

“I am honored to be in the company of current and past Premier 100 IT leaders,” said Brown. “This award recognizes the work of an incredibly strong technology team at Iron Mountain that is committed to helping the company better serve its customers by delivering innovative information management solutions. It was their hard work and dedication that resulted in this award. I accept it on their behalf, and I thank them for their efforts.”

Brown, who was appointed Iron Mountain CIO in September 2008, has steadily reengineered the activities and practices of his IT department to align them more closely with company business priorities. He has created task forces for project management, introduced new communication channels, implemented fresh reporting tools for field leaders to optimize their operations, and more. Brown’s initiatives chart back to Iron Mountain’s main objectives, including maximizing its core business, investing in digital and document management solutions and continually improving how the company serves its customers.

The Premier 100 awards ceremony will be during Computerworld’s annual Premier 100 IT Leaders Conference, being held March 7-9, 2010, at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix. The conference will showcase honorees and other IT innovators as they discuss how to create competitive IT organizations.

About the Premier 100

The Premier 100 was first created in 2000 to spotlight individuals who have had a positive impact on their organization through technology. These are individuals who manage internal IT organizations, mentor and motivate their IT teams and business colleagues, create a positive work environment, envision innovative solutions to business challenges and effectively manage and execute IT strategies. Each year nominees are invited to complete a survey that addresses a number of topics, including their background and experience and their attitude toward risk and innovation. Using Computerworld’s IT Leader Index and using the data from the index, which is a measurement of how closely an individual matches our definition of the IT Leader, we analyze the data. Each year, 100 honorees are selected to receive this life-time recognition award.
