Litigation Services Provider Leverages Advanced Analytics, Automated
Foreign Language Organization and Seamless Transition to Hosted
Substantive Review
BOSTON, Jun 14, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Iron
Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), the information management
company, today announced that International
Litigation Services, Inc. (ILS), a premier provider of litigation
support and electronic discovery services for law firms and corporate
legal teams, has adopted Iron
Mountain eVantage(TM) to augment its growing eDiscovery business. ILS
will use eVantage onsite processing and powerful analytics to rapidly
filter out non-responsive data according to their client's instructions,
before they transition the reduced data set to the Iron Mountain
Stratify Legal Discovery(R) Service so their law firm clients can conduct
hosted review.
Known for its specialization in international and multiparty cases, ILS
sought early case assessment technology as a solution to augment its
ability to manage very large volumes of multilingual data and answer a
growing demand among its clients to cull and analyze data before legal
review. The more data ILS can filter out using eVantage, the less its
clients pay for legal review.
"The eVantage rapid onsite processing and analytical capabilities were
at the heart of our decision," said Joe Thorpe, managing director, ILS.
"We can now quickly help clients eliminate non-responsive data from
legal review and begin foreign language translations sooner because the
solution automatically identifies them for us. We were already using the
Stratify Legal Discovery review platform, so adding eVantage completes
our workflow, from early assessment right through substantive review,
improving efficiencies and lowering our clients' costs."
"We are excited that ILS has made the strategic decision to use Iron
Mountain eVantage to manage the amount of client data needing costly
legal review, as well as foreign language translation," said T.M. Ravi,
chief marketing officer, Iron Mountain Digital. "Litigation support
service providers are looking for ways to increase efficiencies and
provide high quality results to their clients at lower costs. The
combination of Iron Mountain's on-premises early case assessment and
hosted legal review is proving to be a winning combination for service
providers and their clients."
Iron Mountain eVantage offers ILS these powerful analytical capabilities
and benefits:
- Multi-Language Capabilities. eVantage automatically identifies
multi-language documents, including Chinese, Korean and Japanese, and
organizes them into folders for ILS to quickly translate the documents
and emails needed for law firm substantive review.
- Concept Clustering. ILS leverages the eVantage concept
clustering ability to quickly analyze data based on key issues as
identified by clients. ILS clients use the search results to prepare
for "meet and confer" discussions with the opposition, required by the
Federal Rules of Civil Procedure shortly after initiation of
litigation.
- Metadata Analysis. ILS useseVantage metadata search
capabilities to filter out non-responsive data per client instructions
and to help clients ascertain who knew what, when. This is
particularly beneficial in the class action work ILS conducts given
the massive amounts of emails and documents.
- Integrated with Hosted Review. ILS partners with Iron Mountain
to simplify eDiscovery. Integrated early case assessment solution with
the Legal Discovery hosted review platform makes eDiscovery more
efficient and simple. ILS tags (e.g. privileged, relevant,
not-relevant) can be transitioned to the hosted review platform where
review managers use them to improve productivity of the review
workflow further lowering costs for clients.
Iron Mountain delivers a range of eDiscovery products and services
including Connected(R) Classify
& Collect for collecting laptop and desktop data; NearPoint
for content archiving for retention management and legal holds;
eVantage for onsite filtering, culling and analysis; and Stratify
Legal Discovery(R) for hosted review services.
