Information Technology Veteran to Support Company's Growth in Information Management

BOSTON, Oct 18, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Tsolakis, 54, becomes Iron Mountain's executive vice president and chief information officer (CIO) and will oversee the company's use of technology to serve customers and grow as a global information management leader. Tsolakis takes over for Bill Brown, who moves into a new role as senior vice president, global compliance process.

"We added Tasos for his sterling track record of leveraging technology to accomplish business goals across a global enterprise," said Bob Brennan, Iron Mountain's president and CEO. "We're thrilled to welcome him to our team at this time in our company's history when our customers want us to do more than just keep their information safe. Increasingly, they want our help to better understand their information, find it faster and use it more efficiently. Tasos will help us build and deploy support systems to deliver on this need."

A 25-year IT veteran, Tsolakis had served as CIO at ACS, now a Xerox Company, since 2007. There, he set IT strategy for all internal and external solutions and lead a global team of IT professionals. Prior to ACS, Tsolakis looked after customer-facing technology for Home Depot as its vice president of direct to consumer solutions and IT shared services. In this role, he supported the company's Web sites and introduced technology for accepting customer orders and other key initiatives. Earlier in his career, from 1998-2006, Tsolakis drove product development for GE Information Services/GXS, and he held several technology leadership positions at AT&T while there from 1982-1994.

"Iron Mountain understands the power of IT to serve as a strategic business driver and not just a lights-on function," said Tsolakis. "I look forward to building on the team's success and meeting the expanded information management needs of our customers."

Tsolakis holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania; master's and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Wilkes University. He lives in Boston with his wife Christl.
